The team of Laboratory of Photogrammetry – NTUA and research project 5dMeteora (Prof. Charalampos Ioannidis, Sofia Soyle E.DIP and A. M. Boutsis Rural & Survey Engineer) participated in the “8th International Workshop 3D-ARCH” 3D Virtual Reconstruction and Visualization of Complex Architectures “(http://www.3d-arch.org/) with an article presentation in poster format in the period 05/02/2019 to 09/02/2019.

The title of the article was “INTERACTIVE ONLINE VISUALIZATION OF COMPLEX 3D GEOMETRIES” https://www.int-arch-photogramm-remote-sens-spatial-inf-sci.net/XLII-2-W9/173/2019/, with authors Argyro – Maria Boutsis, Charalambos Ioannidis and Sofia Soyle. The subject of the project is to visualize 3D high resolution models in a site through the 3DHOP platform, which can also incorporate measured data and related multimedia. The goal is the development of new 3D real-time browsers and the retrievement of real-time information using the JavaScript computer language.

Additionally, the Three.js and SpiderGL graphics libraries, as well as the jQuery programming library, were used. Emphasis was given on user interaction and spatial and logical correlation of the data of different kind, dimension and level of detail.  There followed an interesting discussion about the subject of the work and more generally about the 5dMeteora research project.
